Overview

  • Delivers DC power at the intrinsic noise floor of your DC-DC, LDO or PDN
  • Patented Switching Noise Jitter (SNJ) conditioning in the time and frequency domains
  • One application circuit for every rail: Harmony plus two 47 µF capacitors (Type-B). No small-value capacitors.
  • Micro-ohm flat PDN impedance from baseband to multi-GHz
  • Improves transient response by removing parasitic inductance, anti-resonance peaks, LC tank ringing and overshoot
  • Frees up to 90% of PDN board area by replacing up to 80% of its passive components
  • Purely passive: draws no power

In the power chain, Harmony's time-domain conditioning suppresses SNJ and chaotic noise from a switching supply. That shrinks the high-speed current loops, removes EMI, stabilizes the regulator and improves conversion efficiency. It also keeps noise from one part of a circuit, including simultaneous switching noise and ground bounce, from spreading. In the signal chain, its native 700 Hz cutoff cleans up slow sensors such as geophones without power-hungry digital filtering.

Applications

  • Data center: timing, TIA, laser source and driver, equalizer, cable driver, SerDes, photodiode, ACC, AEC, AOC, OSFP, QSFP
  • Wireless: timing, digitizer, backhaul, SoC, LNA, 5G, 6G, GPS, satellites, modular spacecraft
  • Computing: GPU, TPU, DDR, HBM, memory controller, SSD, quantum
  • Signal processing: ADC, DAC, FPGA
  • Sensors: LEDs, photodetectors, geophones, MEMS, biomedical

The Type-B circuit

Place Harmony at the point of load with two 47 µF, 10 V capacitors at VOUT. No small-value capacitors. Use the same three parts on every rail, and use two Type-B stages in series to reach 20 GHz.

  • Near a switcher, put pin 1 close to the power inductor and the feedback node.
  • Connect each GND pad to the plane with vias right at the pad. Stitch the ground layers generously.
  • Return the bulk capacitors to the ground plane, not to Harmony’s GND pad.

The rail enters at VIN, passes through the Harmony PI Filter, and continues to VOUT, where two 0805 capacitors connect it to ground. Rows of ground vias surround the filter. IMS 2025: Harmony noise-free filter demo by Dr. Shahriar Shahramian

Dr. Shahriar Shahramian, Director of the ASICs & Packaging Research Lab at Nokia Bell Labs and founder of The Signal Path, demonstrates the TSNJ-5A6L26.

LT8622S switching noise, part 2: the Silent Switcher becomes noise-free

Harmony takes the 2 MHz fundamental from about −59 dBm to −97 dBm (≈ 8.9 µVp-p) and removes microwave spurs.

Silent Switcher EMI, part 2: one filter at the point of load

A single TSNJ-5A6L26 at the point of load restores the rail to the Silent Switcher’s own noise floor, and even lower.
